Launch of ‘Hard at Work’ by Francis Green

LLAKES is delighted to invite you to the launch of Francis Green’s new book:

Hard at Work. Job Quality, Wellbeing and the Global Economy

February 4th, 2026, from 5pm to 7 pm in Room 728 at the Institute of Education, Bedford Way, London.

The book:

·         Sets out a new account of the evolution of job quality in the twenty-first century and how it impacts our health and wellbeing

·         Introduces a novel framework to study job quality around the world

·         Analyses trends in pay and working conditions, organized around seven dimensions of job quality, and how these could be improved in future.

The event will begin with a talk from Professor Ying Zhou (Director of the Future of Work Centre at Surrey University) entitled “The Importance of Job Quality”, followed by an introduction to the book by Professor Francis Green (UCL). Dr. Golo Henseke (UCL) will chair the event.
